Mr. Larry V. Walker

Mr. Walker assumed the position of Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) Chief of Staff (CoS) in September of 2019. He is directly responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all administrative, intelligence, operational, and logistical functions of the command. As an Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) Test Center CoS, his primary mission is to ensure the successful execution of EPG test activities and provide support to the priorities of our Army and our Nation. As a former Test Officer and Antenna Test Facility range lead, he knows the influence that Command staff and HQ can have on test mission execution and success, and works to create a team environment that is both constructive and beneficial to all EPG employees, Division Chiefs and Directors.

Mr. Walker's electronics education and experience makes him and excellent fit for EPG. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He worked for Motorola Government Electronics Group (now General Dynamics) in Scottsdale, AZ for twelve years where he designed, built, tested (his focus), and deployed electronics systems for satellite communications. He worked an additional eight years with ON Semiconductor in Phoenix, AZ, where he evaluated electronic component performance under electrical and mechanical extremes in a variety of applications, primarily automotive. He joined EPG and entered federal civil service in September 2008.

Mr. Walker is a retired naval officer of twenty-two years total reserve service, including four total years of active duty where he was a qualified Engineering Duty Officer specializing in program management and engineering for communications, navigation, and weapons systems on many Navy platforms. He retired at the rank of Commander (O-5).

Mr. Walker is DAWIA Level 3 Test and Evaluation, Program Management, and Engineering, and is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps. He has received awards and recognition on numerous occasions from professional industry, Navy military, Army civilian, and academia.

Mr. Walker is married, and he and his wife have two children. He is heavily involved in church activities and enjoys the outdoors hiking, running, cycling, backpacking, hunting, and fishing with his family.
