COL Timothy E. Matthews
Colonel Timothy E. Matthews was commissioned a Regular Army Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps through the Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Moore, Georgia, in 1999. He is a native of San Antonio, Texas. Prior to assuming command of the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, he was the Deputy Director for Army Aviation Programs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, Washington, DC.
COL Matthews’ past operational assignments include two tours as the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula (CJSOTF-AP) J4 Forward, Baghdad, Iraq and Commander, Group Service Support Company (GSSC) and Service Detachment Commander for the 5th SFG (ABN), Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Iraq. He has also served as the BN S3, Plans and Operations Officer in the 264th CSB (Airborne), Fort Liberty, North Carolina and the Task Force Adjutant/S1, Logistics Task Force 264th, while forward deployed to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.

COL Matthews is 2009 honor graduate of Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri, with a Master Arts in Procurement and Acquisition Management and also has a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
