Benefits

The Technology Experimentation & Characterization Field Trials (TECFT) provide an opportunity for Science & Technology (S&T) and Test & Evaluation (T&E) communities to facilitate progression of technologies to fielded systems by generating critical test data that can be leveraged to support acquisition and special test programs. Participating organizations are able to use referee data to better understand and characterize their technology/system performance.

By including intradepartmental, interagency, academia, industry, and international partners in the field trials, TECFT enables cost sharing, earlier testing, faster development, and increased awareness of new and emerging technologies. A future goal for the event is to provide opportunities for validating Tactics, Techniques and Procedures as part of technology deployment concept and requirements development.
