Saying goodbye: Spellmon relinquishes OTC position by JC Jones, Herald staff writer
WEST FORT HOOD — Brig. Gen. Scott Spellmon, commander of the United States Army Operational Test Command, relinquished leadership of the unit Friday in a ceremony at unit headquarters. Spellmon took command in June 2013. “I only hope I served you as well as you have served me over the past two years,” he said at the ceremony. Following his departure from Fort Hood, Spellmon will head to Portland, Ore., to command the U.S. Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division. The incoming commander, Col. Kenneth Kamper, currently assigned to Fort Riley, Kan., will take over in August. Robert Miele, executive director of the USAOTC, will serve as interim commander.
