Meyer to join Operational Testers' Hall of Fame

 

The U.S. Army Operational Test Command will induct posthumously retired Maj. Gen. Stewart C. Meyer into its Operational Testers’ Hall of Fame at 9 a.m. Sept. 12, during a ceremony outside OTC’s West Fort Hood headquarters.

Col. Scott A. Spellmon, OTC commander, will host the 20th annual ceremony. Mari Meyer will accept the honors; other family members are expected to attend.

A former OTC commanding general, Meyer also served as mayor of Harker Heights for several terms. Meyer will be the 34th hall of fame inductee. Other local notables who are members of OTC’s hall of fame include retired Gen. Robert Shoemaker, of Killeen; Bob Hall, of Copperas Cove; Arthur R. “Art” Woods, deceased; retired Col. Jack Derr, of Harker Heights; and retired Lt. Col. Don Melton, of Killeen.
