Holiday celebration in full swing

It looked like the Robertson clan of
reality TV’s Duck Dynasty came to West
Fort Hood last week during the U.S. Army
Operational Test Command’s annual
Christmas door decorating contest. But
it was only OTC’s G-1 employees turning
their office into the Robertsons’ “Duck
Commander” family business. Brig. Gen.
Scott Spellmon, OTC commanding general,
cited them for their originality,
creativity and esprit de corps when he
presented the G-1 team their first-place
prize. Seated from left are Staff Sgt.
Maria Santos and Marylou Taijeron. In
the duck blind from left are Sgt.
Petagay Anthony and Capt. Ebbeny
Douglas. Standing from left are Maj.
Miguel Medina, Amy Hammonds, Sheila
Miller, Lt. Col. Roy Salyer, Mike Ensor
and Sheryl Remick. Larry Furnace, OTC |

Col. Jeff Harris, U.S. Army Operational
Test Command chief of staff, enjoys
performing as the celebrity Mother
Ginger during Saturday’s matinee
production of Ballet Austin’s “The
Nutcracker” at the Long Center. This is
the ninth year Fort Hood has
participated in the annual Christmas
tradition. Children sharing the stage
with Harris as the “Bon Bons” are
students from the Ballet Austin’s
academy. Tad Browning, OTC
