(KCEN)- BG Laura J. Richardson, commanding general, U.S. Army Operational Test Command at Fort Hood has been promoted to deputy commanding general of the 1^st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood.

Richardson was promoted to brigadier general on Fort Hood on March 2.

Richardson took command of OTC in July 2011. Her husband, BG James M. Richardson is the deputy commanding general for support, First Cavalry Division and is currently deployed to Afghanistan.
