Fort Hood YouTube features 69th ADA safety award,
Soldier art, brush fires

This month on Fort Hood TV’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/forthood, Brig. Gen. Bill Wolf, the Director of Army Safety, presented the Army Comprehensive Risk Management Award to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 69th Air Defense Artillery for their programs that mitigate safety risks to Soldiers and their Families.

The dry conditions on Fort Hood provide prime fuel for brush fires. Recently, a brush fire claimed more than 7,000 acres of land at the Great Place. Reporter John Miller has the story.

Operational Test Command at Fort Hood celebrated its Soldiers and civilian employees in an awards ceremony on post. Harold Dean Horton became the 32nd inductee into the OTC Hall of Fame. Highlights from the ceremony can be viewed on the Fort Hood YouTube channel.

The Army’s Chief of Chaplains, Chap. (Maj. Gen.) Donald Rutherford opened the Spirit of Fort Hood Warrior and Family Chapel Campus in a dedication ceremony on post.

Soldiers and Family members with the Warrior Transition Brigade showcased their personal feelings and emotions through artwork displayed at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center. Reporter Angie Malone spoke with some of the Soldiers about their work.

The semi-annual Hood Howdy Welcome and Mini-Job Fair helped newcomers to the Great Place get acquainted with post and the surrounding Central Texas area. Watch the story and find out what makes the Hood Howdy a great way to get to know the Great Place.

Fort Hood bid farewell to Brig. Gen. Peter Atkinson, who served as the Canadian deputy commanding general for III Corps and Fort Hood since 2008. Assuming the role as the Canadian deputy commanding general is Brig. Gen. Dean Milner. This video features highlights from the ceremony.
