Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch is a
straight shooter, Command Sgt.
Maj. Lawrence Wilson said
recently.
Wilson worked with Lynch while
both served in the 4th Infantry
Division, and said that he
expects the highest standards
from those with whom he works.
Lynch expects leaders to be with
their soldiers, Wilson said.
If the soldiers are performing
maintenance on vehicles, then
their leaders should be, too.
Wilson remembered a time when
they were with the division at
the National Training Center and
Lynch put on a pair of coveralls
and climbed on the vehicles with
the soldiers in the draw yard,
asking questions and helping
out.
Lynch will expect hard work from
everyone at Fort Hood, Wilson
said, and he’ll “take us to
another level.”
It was a good choice, Wilson
said of the Army’s decision to
name Lynch as III Corps and Fort
Hood commander.
“I’m excited that he’s back.”
Lynch will do what needs to be
done for Fort Hood, the
community, the families and the
soldiers, Wilson said.
“He’s going to tell you
straight,” Wilson said.
“He’s not going to beat around
the bush and hee haw.”
