First Sergeant Michael Garcia is a native of Oxnard, California. He entered the U.S. Army in September 2004 where he attended Basic and Advance Individual Training at Fort Benning Georgia as an Indirect Fire Infantry Soldier.

First Sergeant Garcia’s previous duty assignments include all positions an Indirect Fire Infantryman Soldier can hold from Ammunition Handler to Company First Sergeant. Starting with assignments in HHC 1-504 PIR, Fort Bragg North Carolina; B Co 1-504 PIR; D Co 2-29 IN, Instructor for Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Fort Benning Georgia; Platoon Sergeant for HHC 3-21 IN, 1-25 IN Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Senior Support Advisor and First Sergeant for A Co 2nd BN, 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), Fort Bragg North Carolina.

Deployments include Iraq 2005-06; Iraq 2007-08; Iraq 2009-10; Afghanistan 2019. His military education includes Basic Leader Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leader Course, Master Leader Course, Basic Instructor Course, Tactical Certification Course, Advance Situational Awareness Basic Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Airborne School, Jump Master Course, Tactical Combat Causality Care Course and Security Force Assistance Advisor Course.
