Lt. Col. Jonathan L. Brown

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Brown enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999 as a 68X, AH-64 Apache, Armament and Electrical Systems Technician. His enlisted assignments include Ft. Hood, Texas, Camp Page, South Korea and Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia. He was selected to attend Officer Candidate School in 2003 and was subsequently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Armor branch. LTC Brown’s Armor branch assignments include: Scout Platoon Leader, Charlie Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Hood, Texas; Troop Executive Officer; Squadron S-4; and Commander, Charlie Troop, 4th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, Camp Hovey, South Korea.

LTC Brown attended the Army Acquisition Basic Course in 2011. His acquisition assignments include: Test Officer, Operational Test Command (OTC), Ft. Hood, Texas. There he was assigned to the Mission Command test directorate participating in multiple programs such as the Manpack Radio, Mobile User Objective System and the Joint Battle Command-Platform. LTC Brown’s contracting assignments include: Contracting Team Leader, 903rd Contracting Battalion, Kaiserslautern, Germany; Deputy Division Chief of Host Nation Contracting Division; Deputy Division Chief of Special Acquisitions Division; and Operations-Plans Officer, 409th Contracting Support Brigade, Sembach, Germany. Following his initial contracting assignment LTC Brown transitioned to HQ Army Contracting Command (ACC), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, where he served in multiple positions of increasing responsibility to include: G-3/5/7 Future Operations and Chief of Deployments; Administrative Contracting Officer, Camp Arifjan Kuwait; and Executive Officer to the Commanding General, HQ ACC. LTC Brown’s broadening experiences include a 12 month Training with Industry Fellowship in support of General Dynamics Land Systems, Sterling Heights, Michigan. His most recent assignment was Senior Military Acquisition Advisor, Contracting Operations, Army Contracting Command-Detroit Arsenal, Michigan.

LTC Brown is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certified in Contracting and DAWIA Level II certified in Program Management. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star; the Army Meritorious Service Medal; the Army Commendation Medal, 5th Oak Leaf Cluster; the Army Achievement Medal, 5th Oak Leaf Cluster; the Air Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge, Aviation Crewmen Badge and the Order of St. George. LTC Brown has attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tarleton State University, Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Edison State College and a Master of Arts degree from Webster University.
